Gregor.us Editor’s Note: Not A Merry Month of May

Here at Gregor.us your proprietor and his family have been dragging the last 3 weeks under the strain of typical illnesses, that appear to have swept out of the local children’s population(?) and affected at least one person in most of the families we know. Oh, we’ve seen it all. First it was a very bad flu-like cold at the start off the month. Then came a nasty stomach bug. To top things off, one of our own kids now has Lyme Disease. (by the way, this is easily curable when detected early and is not serious. Though, when you live in New England, named conditions such as these always seem to recall starving Pilgrims huddled in Winter, without a proper supply of vegetables.) The good news is that we seem to have come through the worst of it now. That said,  I’ve been playing injured the last few weeks, and I’ve only been able to post barely half the material I’d intended for May. I’ve got stacks of data and drafts for my California series, which is not complete yet–not to my satisfaction, at least. And now the end of May has arrived. Accordingly I am going to extend the California series into June, along with the usual posting on oil, energy and the economy. Speaking of which, I see that both US Treasury Bonds and the price of oil have used my brief absence to make some big moves. Sneaky. Very, very sneaky.

Hi Gregor, hope all is well with you and family. Always look forward to your analysis of energy supply, demand and speculation, thanks!

Chicken Pox is making is way around my kids school. As was a weird virus that caused a fever and that made the kids look like they are blushing red, after they are no longer contagious. When will they cure the "common" cold? Nice thing about being long based on your convictions on Oil and Gold is one just has to sit there while the rest of the world catches up :)
All the best to your family.
  • Sorry to hear you had such a tough month, glad everyone is feeling better.

Springtime on the East Coast is tougher than people let on ;-)

Cheers and thanks. If genius is the ability to deliver, I'm not sure how many sick-outs I'm allowed. :-)

    Lyme disease, not Lyme's
  • gregor.us
Thanks Jeff. You must be a very popular person, making all those around you smile with glee. It's your warmth and compassion I speak of, of course. Keep spreading the cheer.

I didn't mean to sound callous, though the slaughter of medical words drives me crazy. I'm waging a battle to rid the world of other slaughtered medical terms like "vomicking", "blood clogs", "Old-timers disease", etc. . . That being said, I'm happy that your family member's Lyme disease was caught early when treatment is relatively easy and effective. I discovered your blog a couple of months ago and appreciate your work. Best wishes
